The Best Kayaking on and around the Pemaquid Peninsula

Next Adventure Series – Kayaking on and around the Pemaquid Peninsula

The Pemaquid Peninsula is teeming with birds and marine life.  The waterways around and on the peninsula provide the perfect opportunity to see both, up close, in their natural habitat. With sea and lake kayaking options you can take your pick or do both.  Start your kayaking adventure by staying at The Bradley Inn. Check in the first night, make a dinner reservation (check the restaurant schedule to make a reservation).  Schedule a guided sea tour the next day and plan the lake kayaking the following day…or visa versa.  Both are just minutes from the Inn.  At the end of each day you can enjoy a great night’s sleep in your luxurious bed which will be extra inviting after a day of kayaking in the fresh air.  And don’t forget that you’ll wake up to the smell of fresh coffee and a scrumptious breakfast to start the next day!

Sea kayaking is what most people think of first as we are on the coast.  With access to Muscongus Bay, Johns Bay, and Pemaquid Harbor you have a wide range of kayaking experiences available to you.    These bodies of water provide protected and picturesque paddling opportunities.   There are guided wildlife tours, sunset tours, full moon trips and half and full day trips available.

Lake kayaking is also available on beautiful, flat water, whether on the Pemaquid River, Biscay Pond or Lake Pemaquid.  All three different bodies of water offer you access to an area rich in history and plentiful wildlife, you even get to paddle under a granite arch bridge, one of the oldest in Maine. The area is tranquil and pretty.  You can rent a kayak and explore on your own or opt for guided half and full day tour.  You can also rent a kayak right across from the boat launch on the Pemaquid River in Bristol Mills, be sure to ask us about that when you are at the inn.
